my new year’s resolut…blah blah blah

Forget about keeping resolutions for the New Year — I never seem to even have them in the first place. I don’t know why not, I just don’t. Maybe it’s because New Year’s always sneaks up on me and before I realize it, we’re counting down the seconds and watching that sparkly ball drop. This year, I’m determined to document potential resolutions therefore ensuring I have one when the time comes. One might say my New Year’s resolution is to have a resolution. ;)

Here’s what I’ve got so far:

  1. Get good at couponing. Maybe it’s just because they have show on tv now “Extreme Couponing” or maybe it’s because I know I live in an expensive city and don’t make enough money. Maybe I’m super lame and need a pastime like this one to keep things interesting. Yup, couponing, real interesting. I’ll probably forget all about this particular resolution idea as soon as I finish this post.
  2. Keep my one and only Aloe plant alive. Easier said than done, really, I swear! I picked this little guy up from our neighborhood plant store, maybe, say, 2 months ago. We named him Lionel, after Lionel Richie of course. He was a real beaut, perky, and vibrantly green. Now, sadly, he’s all droopy and has begun oozing this gross yellow pus stuff. Naturally my first thought was that Nick somehow got mustard on Lionel (accidentally!), and I was all about accusing him of such — until I looked it up. Apparently he’s been over-watered and is now rotting. Sources say I’m supposed to not water him any more until he heals. I don’t have a great track record with plants, but I’m hoping I can fix him up and treat him right!

Anyway, that’s all I can think of at the moment. A good start. It’s early. I’m glad I wrote this all down. It’s now frozen in time and internet space. Good bye.
